Matthews Construction was formed in 2004, but the industry experience of the company management goes back much further with a total of 28 years in the business between them. This family run business has come a long way in the last six years with turnover this year expected to exceed £1.2 million.

The company is a winner of the South Worcestershire Building Excellence award in 2011 - Commercial Category, Best individual New Home in 2013 and Highly Commended and finalist in the West of England Individual Home. The Team

 

Chris MatthewsCHRIS MATTHEWS

Contracts Director

 

Chris's basic training was at Worcester College of Technology. He gained early experience as a local bricklayer, also completing work for the National Trust. At 22 years of age he successfully built his first new house. Now, with many other projects under his belt he is responsible for the initial client meetings and preparing quotations. Once work has commenced he liaises regularly with clients, architects and suppliers to ensure all works are completed on time and to budget.

Rob MatthewsROB MATTHEWS

Construction Director

 

Rob also completed his initial training at Worcester Tech before moving into the carpentry trade which is now his speciality. With his hands on approach he has gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of the construction industry. He holds a Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate. Robs professional approach is key to his role as site manager.

Alan MatthewsALAN MATTHEWS

Operations Director

 

Alan spent many years as a qualified Engineer before training in the construction industry to work along side his sons. He is a qualified bricklayer and is fully involved in all day to day aspects of each job to ensure a smooth operation.

Jenny MatthewsJENNY MATTHEWS

Company Secretary

 

To meet demand as the business expanded Jenny's part time administrative role had to change and she became full time two years ago. Business experience gained in her previous role as an Advertising Manager in the newspaper industry has proved essential and Jenny is now responsible for all financial accounting aspects of the company. She also has to keep the three other Matthews in line which is a hard task.
